Bequests
Wenona’s tradition of philanthropy is firmly grounded in its past history with the gift in 1958 by Miss Edith Ralston and her family of the School to the private company Wenona School Ltd. Gifts over the years have significantly assisted in the growth of the school.
Despite this, there has never been a strong history in Wenona, or other girls’ schools, of bequests. This is a well-established method of support in boys’ schools. The generosity of their ex-students has enabled them to develop facilities many girls’ schools can only dream about.
A bequest need not be many thousands or tens of thousands of dollars. Any bequest would be appreciated by Wenona and will ensure that facilities for future generations of girls are the best possible. The future development and long-term security of the School can never be a cause for complacency. Bequests could be made to Wenonians Inc to help us to support our Scholarship programme or to Wenona School.
All Wenonians received a brochure outlining the Foundation’s Bequest programme with the “Review” early in 2006 and you can click here to download it. Of course, the Bequest programme is not limited to Old Girls.
If you would like to contact any of the Bequest Committee, or discuss how a bequest might best be used, please do not hesitate to contact Ms Virginia Howard, vhoward@wenona.nsw.edu.au or Mrs Jane Howland, Wenoniansinc@wenona.nsw.edu.au or phone Wenona on 9955 3000.
